Balluff's range of inductive sensors
Balluff has launched SuperShorties, a family of super short inductive sensors in both 6.5mm diameter and M8 sizes, with a smallest sensor in the range just 6 mm long.
Balluff has launched a range of super short inductive sensors in both 6.5mm dia and M8 sizes. The smallest sensor in this product family is all of 6 mm long (in the cable version) available in both housing sizes, with a sensing range of 1.5mm.
The extremely short housing of the SuperShorties allows the complete sensor to be positioned directly at the sensing location even in space-critical applications, and for example in compact assemblies such as linear slides, valves and actuators.
With their rugged stainless steel housing the sensor weighs only 0,7 grams (not including the cable). This also makes the sensor ideal for high-dynamic applications such as pick-and-place. Easy to install, the entire electronics are integrated into the tiny housings so no external amplifier is necessary.
The SuperShorties can be mounted in the tightest of spaces and since they do not protrude very far, if indeed at all, they are much less likely to cause an obstruction or suffer accidental damage. A range of mounting brackets and connector cables is available to complement these sensors.
